Nadine Aernouts Vermylen

Born in 1953, in Brasschaat, Belgium. Graduated in speech therapy in Antwerp (1975). Moved to the Basque country in 1980, where she studied Basque philology (philosophy and literature department) at the University of Deusto and obtained her bachellor degree in 1990. Researcher at the "Institute of Basque Studies" on the life of Andrés de Poza. In 1991 she returned to live in a small town in the mountains of Burgos. She is artistic director and founder of the literary journal "Vulcanius", created in 1996. Polyglot and director of the language academy El Kabauter, in Villarcayo-Burgos. Writer of poetry, short stories, essays and historical articles in Dutch, Spanish, English and Basque. Translator from Dutch to Spanish, Spanish to Dutch, English to Spanish.
